Freeness of mixed splines on polyhedral complexes

Selma Altınok

We study the graded module of mixed splines on the cone of a planar polyhedral complex. We give a necessary condition on a polyhedral complex under which the module of mixed splines is free. However, this condition is not sufficient as we demonstrate in an example.

Mixed splines, polyhedral complexes, Hilbert functions.
