Robust Image Processing by ?-Prewhitening Based FastICA Algorithm

Independent component analysis (ICA) is a popular and promising statistical technique for blind image source separation. The robust FastICA algorithm is a popular technique for ICA. However, it breakdowns the robustness properties with the classical prewhiten datasets. This paper discusses the ?-prewhitening based FastICA algorithm for robust image source separation. This algorithm explores original structure of image signals in which the observed signals follows an ICA model. Our experimental results show that the performance of the proposed method is better than the classical-prewhitening based FastICA algorithm for image processing from the robustness point of view.
