E. O. Afuecheta, C. A. Oyeka

Abstract

This paper proposes a statistical method which allows one to optimally assess the performance of a population of subjects for possible selection in the presence of limited opportunities. The proposed method is illustrated with some data and has performed optimally in estimation of median and other tiles of the data distribution. A procedure for breaking ties between subject scores was presented. Also, a selection eligibility criterion which may serve as a guide for post-test was developed.
