Development of a software tool for decision making in combat models

Baki Koyuncu, Erkan Bostanc?

A menu driven software package is developed to present mathematical models for military applications; Decision matrix which is a useful tool for decision making, Lanchester Combat Model which is used for evaluating which of the two forces will be victorious after the battle and how long the battle will last and Simple Arms Race Model which shows the competition between two countries were discussed. This paper reviews the mathematical background for models currently used in military applications and presents a developed software which implements the models in an interactive manner for more efficient comprehension of them. C++ Builder integrated development environment is utilized in the development.
