J. Karthikeyan, C.R. Suribabu, K. Palanichamy

Abstract

Developing operation policy for any newly constructed tank is a prerequisite for putting the tank into effective operation to satisfy the intended demand. Generally, simulation-optimization model is used to evolve the operation policy. In the present study, linear programming model is adopted to evolve the optimal operation policy for Muthalamuthuvari tank situated in Thanjavur district, Tamilnadu. The results of the model are analyzed and some suggestions are given for effective operation of the tank.
