Advances in the robust stabilization of neutral systems with saturating actuators

F. El Haoussi, E.H. Tissir, F. Tadeo

Abstract

This paper deals with the problem of robust stabilizing of neutral saturating systems with time-varying delays. Based on a novel free weighting matrix approach, new delay-dependent conditions are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities, that include a tuning parameter, which makes possible to enlarge approximations of the domain of attraction. These LMI conditions are derived using a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional obtained from the vertices
of a polytopic description of the actuator saturations. In addition, an optimization algorithm is provided to compute stabilizing gains. The particularization to standard delayed systems is also derived. Some numerical examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.
