Construction of Control Chart Using Direct Fuzzy Approach

R. Sasikumar, S.Bangusha Devi

Abstract

Statistical Process Control (SPC) is a set of methods aiming at evaluating, monitoring and possibly reducing variability in industrial processes. In SPC, control charts are used to monitor whether the process is in control or not. In the modern manufacturing process, vagueness or incompleteness exists. For facing these situations, fuzzy logic offers a systematic base to construct the control charts. There are many papers have been discussed about fuzzy control charts using defuzziffication method. In this paper, Direct Fuzzy Approach (DFA) method is used to construct the control chart. A DFA method for attributes under vague data is compared with the fuzzy control charts which is used defuzzification method such as fuzzy mode, fuzzy midrange and fuzzy median.
