Wave propagation in a waveguide having anisotropic permittivity using method of moments

Arti Vaish, Harish Parthasarathy

Abstract

In this paper, the method of moments is used to analyze the modes of wave propagation. The rectangular waveguide structures are assumed to have anisotropic permittivity. For such a waveguide, the Maxwell equations have been written and solved for both the transverse components of the electric and magnetic fields in terms of the longitudinal components assuming an exponential variation of the field along the axis of the guide. Using these transverse components for TM wave propagation, we arrive at a generalized Helmholtz equation. The generalized Helmholtz equations have been solved using the method of moments.
