Assessment of Impervious Surface Area and Surface Urban Heat Island: A Case Study

Joel N. Kamdoum, Kayode A. Adepoju, Joseph O. Akinyede

This work highlights geospatial technologies as an integral part of all decisions where natural environment plays an important role. It sets out a key expected change arising from the replacement of the natural environment with impervious layers by exploring surface urban heat island (SUHI) effects as potential environmental impacts of such layers.
