Unsteady Thermal Radiation Effects on MHD Convective Slip Flow of Visco-Elastic Fluid Past a Porous Plate Embedded in Porous Medium

Rita Choudhury, Bamdeb Dey

Abstract

The influence of thermal radiation on the unsteady magneto-convention flow of an incompressible, electrically conducting visco-elastic fluid through a porous medium past a semi-infinite vertical porous plate in presence of an external magnetic field with time dependent suction acting in a direction normal to the flow has been discussed. There is no external electric field imposed on the system and the magnetic Reynolds number is very small. To solve governing equations of the problem the perturbation technique has been used and the important properties of the overall
structure of the motion are analysed. The influence of visco-elasticity on the fluid velocity, temperature and shear stress have been illustrated graphically in presence of pertinent physical parameters due to wide occurrence of non-Newtonian fluid behaviour in different fields of engineering and technology.
