A test for comparing the hazard rate functions of two Lindley distributions under Type II censoring

Sayyed Mahmoud Mirjalili, Hamzeh Torabi

Abstract

In reliability theory, one of the most important inferential problems is how to compare either reliability functions or hazard rate functions of two populations, especially under Type II censoring. In this paper, a new test for comparing the hazard rates of two Lindley distributions under Type II Censoring is proposed. Using Monte Carlo simulation studies, it has been observed that the proposed test is quite powerful as compared to existing tests under Type II censoring.

Keywords

Hazard rate function, Lindley distribution, Type II censoring, Wilcoxson ranksum statistic.
