An Extended Kalman Filter Approach Based on Error Factors for InSAR Phase Unwrapping

Man Yan, Yongquan Liang, Lifen Wang

Abstract

Kalman filter phase unwrapping algorithm simultaneously enables phase unwrapping and noise elimination. But the result is not accurate when the phase is discontinuous. This work presents extended Kalman filter approach based on error factors for InSAR phase unwrapping .This phase unwrapping algorithm, whose input control variable is introduced to the state space model, the phase error is compensated. Through the extended Kalman filter gain is limited within a certain range, and the error is prevented from a very small area. Finally, the extended Kalman filter smooth is implemented to reduce error propagation. Results obtained with synthetic and real InSAR data show a significant improvement with respect to Kalman filter phase unwrapping algorithm, network flow phase unwrapping algorithm and quality guided phase unwrapping algorithm in some situations.

Keywords
