Cross-correlation Modelling of Civilian Air Traffic Controller’s Core Skills by Fluctuation Analysis

Heng Xiang

Abstract

This paper proposes the detrended method to analyze the correlation and cross-correlation characteristics for civilian air traffic controller’s core skills. The core skills consist of scene memory, cognitive ability, mathematical computation, and position estimation ability. By applying the detrended cross-correlation analysis, a detailed analysis of detrended cross-correlation fluctuation function is given. By numerical computing, the power-law relation between the detrended cross-correlation fluctuation function and time scale is obtained. The cross-correlation exponent in the interval [0, 1], represents the cross-correlation properties in data. Specially, the cross-correlation properties between any two core skills are similar. These results indicate that the scene memory, cognitive ability, mathematical computation, and position estimation ability are interrelated and interact on each other.
