High-Performance Control of IM using MRAS-Fuzzy Logic Observer

Abstract


This paper presents the vector control method of induction motor (IM) using an MRAS-fuzzy logic observer. This type of observer combine the Model Reference Adaptive Systems (MRAS) technique with the fuzzy logic in order to design an MRAS-fuzzy logic observer which can at first estimate the rotor speed and second the rotor resistance. Estimate the rotor speed can decrease the installation cost and the rotor resistance can increase the performance of the control law which is very sensitive to the variation of the latter. To validate the proposed solutions, a simulation tests of a 3kW induction motor are presented and analyzed. The obtained results show the effectiveness of the proposed solutions.
