A Generalization of Wrapped Exponential Distribution: Properties and Application
Abstract
In this paper, a new wrapped distribution is developed namely generalized wrapped exponential (GWE) distribution which extends wrapped exponential distribution. For GWE distribution, various statistical properties are obtained including trigonometric moments, characteristic function, quantile function and probability distribution of order statistics. We considered maximum likelihood, least square and weighted least square estimation methods for estimation of parameters of GWE. As part of application of GWE, we have considered circular data and compared the performance with few generalizations of wrapped exponential distribution.
