Catenary detection based on segment concatenation

Abstract



In this work, we propose a method for the detection of catenaries using images of electrical infrastructures. The method is based on the generation of polylines of concurrent segments. For the development of this process, a set of segment detection methods was evaluated in terms of accuracy and computing time. A process that permits the selection and concatenation of segments based on criteria of proximity and collinearity is presented.
For evaluating the performance of the detection method, a dataset composed of pictures of real catenaries taken from different perspectives is employed.
