Analysis of a Mathematical model of HCV transmission among injecting drug users

Y. Tabit, N. Yousfi, K. Hattaf

Abstract

This paper considers a mathematical model describing and modeling the transmission of Hepatitis C Virus(HCV) infection among injecting drug users. We prove that the global dynamics are completely determined by the basic reproduction number R0. If R0 leq 1, the disease-free equilibrium is globally stable and the disease always dies out. If R0 gr. 1, a
unique endemic equilibrium exists and is globally stable and the disease persists in the host population. Finally, we give some numerical simulation to illustrate our results.
