Estimation Of Body Weight Of Holstein-Friesian Cattle With Multiple Regression Analysis
Abstract
The objectives of the present study were to estimate body weight of Holstein-Friesian cattle by using multiple regression analysis. For building multiple regression equation, the data was collected from Holstein-Friesian aged one to five years for 30 bulls and measured body weight, body length, height at withers, chest depth, heart girth, and age. It found that there was a relationship between dependent variable, body weight, and independent variable, chest depth and age, then estimated multiple regression equation was = -265.65 + 2.86 heart girth + 41.82 age with adjusted coefficient of determination 0.956 and standard error of estimation 22.59.
