On a characterization of a q-analogue of the gamma function

Abstract


We introduce a q-analogue of the gamma function via Tsumura’s q-Hurwitz zeta function. This gamma function satisfies an analogue of the Bohr-Mollerup theorem which is a characterization theorem for the gamma function. As an application, we give an analogue of the Gauss multiplication formula.
