Approximate analytical solutions for the time-dependent Wave-type equations by Variational Homotopy Perturbation Method

M. Matinfar, M. Mahdavi

Abstract

In this paper, Variational homotopy perturbation method (VHPM) is used to obtain analytical solution for the time-dependent wave type of equations with singular behavior. The singularity behavior that occurs at the point x = 0 is the main diffculty in the analysis of
these equations. In fact, we employ the VHPM to this model of equations to overcome the singularity behavior at the point x = 0. To show the efficiency of the VHPM, several examples are presented. Comparisons with exact solution show that the VHPM is a powerfull method for the solution of linear and nonlinear equations.

Keywords

Variational homotopy perturbation method, wave-type equations, Lagrange multiplier.
