Selection of Single Sampling Plan Through Decision Region

K.K. Suresh, P.R. Divya

Abstract

This paper is concerned with the development of a method for designing Sampling plans based on range of quality instead of point- wise description of quality by invoking a novel approach called the Decision Region. This method seems to be versatile and can be adopted to the elementary production process where the stipulated quality level is advisable to fix at a later stage and provides a new concept meant for designing Single Sampling Plan Involving quality Levels. Maximum Allowable Percent Defective is also considered for the selection of parameters for Single Sampling Plan. New quality descriptors called operating ratios are introduced to develop the sampling plan.
