Comprehensive Evaluation of Effectiveness for Power Transformer Based on Life Cycle Cost

Jianpeng Bian, Xiaoyun Sun, Jing Yang

Abstract

Comprehensive evaluation of effectiveness for power transformer has been a challenge in the power department and utility. Most methods are utilized according to the initial cost and don’t consider the synthetical evaluation of economy and technology. This paper address a practical probabilistic life cycle cost (PLCC) model and comprehensive evaluation procedure of effectiveness for power transformer based on the PLCC. Then, in order to demonstrate the comprehensive evaluation of effectiveness for the power transformer, actual power transformers are discussed. From the results of the numerical investigation, it may be positively stated that comprehensive evaluation of effectiveness model proposed in this study will lead to a more rational, economical and effective procedure compared with the conventional method only considering the initial cost.

Keywords

power transformer, effectiveness, probabilistic life cycle cost.
