Error Analysis of Magnetic Field Calculation Using Magnetic Dipole Based on Circular Current

Zhiyong Guo, Dejun Liu, Yuexia Luo

Abstract

Aiming at quantitatively analyze the applicability of calculating an actual magnet’s magnetic field by using magnetic dipole, an error analysis model is established based on circular current magnet in the relative spherical coordinates. Based on the model which considers the numerically calculated magnetic field of a magnet as the conventional true value, this study analyzes the effects of observation point's Distance-to-Diameter Ratio (DDR), elevation and azimuth on maximum relative error (MRE) of magnetic flux density norm (MFDN) and maximum absolute error (MAE) of declination and inclination, when calculating magnetic field using magnetic dipole. According to the influence relationship between errors and the coordinates of observation point, the calculation formulas for MRE of MFDN and MAE of inclination are deduced. Using the error calculation formulas, we can accurately calculate the MRE of MFDN and the MAE of inclination.
