Sub-regional DV-Hop Localization Algorithm for Dynamic Anchor Nodes

Songhao Jia, Cai Yang

Abstract

In the DV-Hop algorithm, the estimation distance between the anchor node and the unknown node is large error. In order to solve the problem, this paper proposes the Sub-regional DV-Hop algorithm for dynamic anchor nodes (SRDV-Hop). Firstly, the algorithm selects nearest three anchor nodes around the unknown nodes which are not in a straight line, and they can constitute a sub area. Then each hop distance of the three anchor nodes are calculated in the sub area. Their average value is taken as the average distance of each hop of the unknown node. Based on the value, the algorithm calculates the distance of three points and the unknown node. Finally, its position is estimated. In one hop range, the distance of unknown node is measured by RSSI localization algorithm. The eligible unknown node is added to pseudo anchor node set. Simulation results show that, compared with the traditional DV-Hop algorithm, SRDV-Hop algorithm improves the localization accuracy at no additional hardware conditions.
