Finite Difference Analysis on the Generation of Heat by Spin Friction of the Projectile-Loaded Equipments

Shengliang Hu, Chao Mao

Abstract

According to the heat sensitive property to the projectile-launched inner equipments made by the PE, the numerical analysis model of the rotary sliding friction relative speed between the inner equipments and the projectile body is established based on the ballistic radial friction condition. In terms of the numerical calculation results of the model, the rotary sliding friction relative speed time curve is plotted. Moreover, the temperature distribution model for the inner equipments surface sliding friction is studied by the classical heat-transfer theory. By the results of the computer simulation, it is known that the generation of heat by spin friction is the major factor of the distortion for the over-heated.

Keywords
