Improved differential transform method for solving Bratu’s problem

Changqing Yang, Jianhua Hou

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a improved differential transform for solving the one-dimensional Bratu’s problem, which is widely applicable in fuel ignition of the combustion theory and heat transfer. The method is based on the application of differential transform to nonlinear Bratu’s problem. The differential transform of the nonlinear term is first presented for the determination of the infinite series solution. Numerical examples are presented to verify the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed algorithm. The results reveal that the method is accurate and easy to implement.
