Highway Entrance Ramp Control System Research Based on Fuzzy Logic Algorithm

Abstract


Highway traffic problems have attracted many attentions around china. In all of the highway control methods, the entrance ramp control is both the most widely used form, and one of the most effective control forms. According to the fuzzy logic control theory, this thesis designs a highway entrance ramp control system to control the vehicles to access to the highway timely and moderately, for alleviating traffic, improving traffic, avoiding traffic accident, improving road capacity and service level. It uses RTMS (remote traffic microwave sensors) to collect highway traffic information. After the analog to digital conversion, those digital data are transmitted to the fuzzy controller by MC35i module wirelessly. Through the simulation result of MATLAB based on fuzzy algorithm, the feasible entrance ramp control scheme has been got.
