Estimating the Mean of a Stratified Population using Two Auxiliary Variables under Double Sampling Scheme in the Presence of Non-Response

Manoj K. Chaudhary, Amit Kumar, Anil Prajapati

Abstract

The present paper possesses some improved combined-type chain ratio and regression estimators of the population mean in stratified random sampling utilizing the information on two auxiliary variables under non-response. The estimators have been proposed under the situation where the study variable and the first auxiliary variable closely related to the study variable, are suffering from non-response and the desired knowledge about the parametric values of the first auxiliary variable is not available. Hence, the double sampling scheme is adopted by utilizing the information on another auxiliary variable closely related to first auxiliary variable but compared to it remotely related to study variable. The properties of the proposed estimators have been discussed in detail. An empirical study has also been entertained to demonstrate the theoretical results.
