Two General Classes of Chain Type Estimators for Product of Two Population Means Using Two Auxiliary Characters in The Presence of Nonresponse

B. B. Khare, Utkarsh

Abstract

Two general classes of chain type estimators for product of two population means using two auxiliary characters in the presence of non response has been proposed and its properties are studied. The proposed classes of estimators have a large number of estimators satisfying the regularity conditions are as a member of the class. All the members of the class are having same mean square error under the optimum conditions. One may have a choice of estimator among the members of the class which has minimum bias. The proposed classes of estimators are found to be more efficient than the relevant estimators in case of fixed sample size and fixed cost. It is also found that proposed classes of chain type estimators for product of two population means are economic in comparison to the relevant estimators in case of the fixed variance based on an empirical study.
