Improved Ratio and Product Exponential Type Estimators for Finite Population Mean in Two Phase Sampling

Rohini Yadav, Housila P. Singh

Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of estimating population mean of the ratio and product exponential type estimators in double (or two-phase sampling) sampling and analyses their properties. The bias and mean squared error are obtained upto the first order of approximation. The proposed estimators are compared for their efficiencies with the sample mean, ratio estimator, product estimator and Singh and Vishwakarma (2007) estimators in case of double sampling. The empirical study is carried out for the support of the proposed family of the estimators.

Keywords
