Daina Šķiltere, Svetlana Jesiļevska

Abstract

The goodness of statistical data has often been criticized. The problem here is associated with selecting appropriate criteria to evaluate the goodness of statistical data, therefore, not just related to the research paradigm and intention, but also to the beliefs held by both researchers and research participants. Still there is a strong need to discuss this topic. One of the main reasons for this critical approach comes from problems with the validity of observations and interpretations of statistical data. In this article we present a systematic approach of determining validity of statistical data. As well as a new vision of validity in the context of statistical research is proposed.
