Parameters Estimation for the Generalized Exponential Distribution under Partially Accelerated Life Tests with Censoring

Ali A. Ismail

Abstract

This article deals with the problem of estimating the generalized exponential distribution parameters in the case of constant-stress partially accelerated life tests. We consider the maximum likelihood method to estimate the distribution parameters and the acceleration factor based on type-I censored data. This method does not yield explicit form for the estimates. Hence, an iterative procedure is used to obtain the estimates numerically. The performance of the estimators is investigated numerically for different parameter values and different sample sizes. Moreover, the approximate confidence bounds of the model parameters are obtained. A simulation study is conducted for illustrative purposes.
