On Discretization of Ishita Distribution

Ahmad Aijaz, Afaq Ahmad

Abstract

Discretization is the procedure of converting continuous functions, variables into corresponding discrete analogue. In reliability, failure data are measured by discrete variables. In present study a discrete analogue of Ishita distribution has been established and its various distributional properties, moment generating function, mode, median, order statistics, reliability measures has been discussed. Moreover the behavior of probability density function (pdf), cumulative distribution function (cdf), survival function and hazard rate function. The estimation of parameter of proposed distribution are estimated by the known method of maximum likelihood estimation. Finally the performance of the proposed distribution are explained through examples.
