Security of Cloud Data Storage: An Analysis

T.V. Sindia, Julia Punitha Malar Dhas

Abstract

Cloud storage has become a faster profit growth point by providing a low cost, scalable, position independent platform for clients data. It enables users to remotely store their data and enjoy the on-demand high quality cloud applications without the burden of local hardware and software management. The risk faced by the organization in using the cloud is the security of data that is outsourced. Therefore secure and efficient data exchange across the enterprise and clouds, as well as secure application connectivity becomes the major security concerns. For confidentiality of data, encryption can be used. Lightweight cryptographic algorithms makes the computations lesser. For availability, XOR based erasure code can be used for encoding purposes. And for maintaining the integrity of data, POR- Proof of Retrievability and PDP- Provable Data Possession can be used. A combination of these approaches makes the system robust.
