A Two-Parameter Power Sujatha Distribution with Properties and Application

Rama Shanker, Kamlesh Kumar Shukla

Abstract

A two-parameter power Sujatha distribution has been proposed which includes one parameter Sujatha distribution introduced by Shanker (2016) as particular case. Its statistical properties including shapes of probability density function, moments and moments based measures, stochastic ordering and hazard rate function have been discussed. Maximum likelihood estimation has been discussed for estimating the parameters of the proposed distribution. Application of the distribution has been discussed with real lifetime data from engineering and its goodness of fit has been compared with other one parameter and two parameter lifetime distributions.

Keywords

Sujatha distribution, Moments, Hazard rate function, Stochastic ordering, Maximum likelihood estimation, Goodness of fit.
