Power Rayleigh Amplitude Distribution with Applications on Some Real Data Sets
A two parameter continuous distribution, namely power Rayleigh amplitude (PORA) distribution is proposed and studied for; the exceedances of flood peaks (in m3/s) of the Wheaton River, flood data for the Floyd River, remission time for bladder cancer and taxes revenue data. Several statistical and reliability properties are derived. Hazard rate function of the PORA distribution is decreasing always. Shannon entropy and Renyi entropy for PORA distribution are developed. Moreover, record values from PORA distribution have been discussed with various properties. The simulation technique is used to generate data for PORA distribution and maximum likelihood estimation is used to estimate the parameters of the proposed model. Finally, the PORA distribution is applied on some real data sets and compared with some well-known models. The comparison showed that PORA distribution provide outfit most existing models.
