A Revisit to the Estimation of Population Mean in Presence of Non-Response in Sample Surveys
Abstract
Some estimators for population mean using the method of sub sampling from non respondents in the presence of non-response have been proposed and their properties are studied. The proposed estimators are found to be more efficient than the corresponding Hansen and Hurwitz (1946) estimator for fixed sample size and also for the fixed cost. This proposed estimator will also help in improving various estimators proponed for population mean using Hansen and Hurwitz’s estimator.
