Cellular Automata - Chinese Remainder Theorem Based Image Encryption Compression Scheme

Bala Suyambu Jeyaram, Rama Raghavan, Junzo Watada

Abstract

This paper presents a new image encryption compression scheme. Unity attractors of elementary cellular automata are used in the encryption algorithm. Integration of Chinese Remainder Theorem (CRT) is used to diffuse further and compress the encrypted image. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme is changing the plain image pixel values non-uniformly. Encrypted images of the proposed scheme pass the tests in NIST randomness test suit. This exhibits a high level of randomness in the encrypted images of the proposed scheme. The performance analyses of encrypted images show that the proposed scheme is immune against standard attacks.
