Fuzzy based Fractal Compression for Medical Images by using Pixel Pattern

Amit Kumar Biswas, Sanjeev Karmakar, Sanjay Sharma

Abstract

In the world of internet, on-line medical information systems are required to store the medical records of patient like magnetic resonance imaging, x-ray, computed tomography and ultrasound images etc. for future reference is a serious issue. Store the huge database of medical images in coded form are a better approach as compared to store in pixel form. This paper proposed a new method to use the patterns of pixels after enhancing the texture of the images by fuzzy approach. The fuzzy approach exposes the diagnostic information of medical images for classification. The proposed method is better in encoding time for less complex images than the non-enhancement based method while there is negligible degradation in image quality of reconstructed images.

Keywords
