Comparative Analysis of Watershed Segmentation Technique and Conventional Segmentation Techniques of Mammogram

D. Narain Ponraj, M. Evangelin Jenifer, P. Poongodi

Abstract

Segmentation plays an important role in breast cancer detection. This paper presents a comparison of
the existing segmentation algorithms that are deployed in image processing. Segmentation algorithms such as thresholding, edge segmentation and watershed segmentation are compared and the efficient one among the three is found out using the tumor area extracted and relative error percentage for the efficient detection of breast cancer.
