Estimation of Reliability Characteristics using Product Spacings Method for Progressively Type II Censored

Rajwant Kumar Singh, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Umesh Singh

Abstract

This paper considers a Type II progressively right censored sample from Flexible Weibull (FW) Distribution and describes the procedure for the use of the method of product spacings for the estimation of the parameters, reliability and hazard functions. A comparative study between proposed estimators based on maximum product of spacings method (MPS) and maximum likelihood estimations (MLE) is performed on the basis of simulated results. Finally, a real data set have been considered to illustrate the practical utility of the paper.
