Abstract

In the present paper, we proposed a new class of distribution taking Lindley distribution as baseline distribution. The proposed distribution named as exponential transformed Lindley is very applicable in the situation of increasing hazard rate and also some of the important statistical properties have been studied. Further, we have provided maximum likelihood and Bayesian estimation procedure for parameter estimation of the proposed distribution. Finally, we have analysed a real data set to explain the suitability of our distribution in comparison to other well-known distributions.

Keywords
