Taylorized Modified Power Series Distributions with Epileptic Seizure Incidence Applications

Ramalingam Shanmugam

Abstract

Gupta [1974] introduced a versatile class of distributions and named them modified power series distributions (MPSD). The survival or cumulative distribution function for the MPSD class remains unknown due to their mathematical complications. A Taylor series expansion of only the complicating component of the MPSD is examined in this article to find the survival function. This approach worked well. The results are quite useful. The transformed version for the MPSD is versatile for many real life applications including the epilepsy seizure data analysis as demonstrated in this article.

Keywords
