Approximation of a Signal Using Discrete Wavelets Transform

In this paper we present a novel approach for the approximation of a signal of length n, to double its length 2n, using Multi Resolution Analysis (MRA) of Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). The method is evaluated by considering the Haar, Daubechies D4 and D6 wavelets. It is observed that the use of Daubechies D4 wavelet coefficients provides comparatively better approximation of the signal among the three wavelets.
