Determınatıon of Relatıonshıp Between Profıtable and Loss Companıes wıth Financıal Ratıos, An Applıcatıon on The Istanbul Stock Exchange

Abstract



The aim of financial ratio analysis is to evaluate the efficiency and achievement degree of the firm activities, to determine the ability to reach the firm’s target. Also, in order to confirm what degree the firm can realize its duties and to prepare future plans in terms of controlling and evaluating their activies, the financial ratio analysis is impemented. In this study, the effect of financial ratios on profit and loss status of firms is examined by logistic regression analysis based on non-metallic mineral products industry, machinery and metal products industry and wholesale / retail industries for 2011 and 2015. As a result, the most effective financial ratio on the profit / loss situation of the firms is the operating profitability ratio and cash ratio is determinated.
