Impact of Gender and Parent Advice on Longitudinal Change in Children’s Mental Health Condition

Abstract



Mental wellness for children and youth of a society is necessary for the development of healthy nation. The aim of this study was to identify what factors affect children’s mental health functionality at school level. This study used primary dataset to assess the impact of gender and parent advice during mental illness in measuring the change of total difficulty score (TDS) for 2016 school year in Bangladesh. Results showed that there was a significant change in Total Difficulty Score (TDS) from pre-test to follow up period using unconditional growth model. Impact of gender and parent advice on longitudinal change in total difficulty score found statistically significant.
